Visit Gates County!

 

We might be rural, and we might be small, but Gates County is big on scenic beauty and nature... From the Chowan River to Beaver Lake to Merchant's Millpond to the Great Dismal Swamp, Gates County is a popular outdoor sports destination. There is plenty of game land and private property for hunting. The Chowan River is accessible to nearly all areas of the county. There are three Wildlife Boat Ramps in our region and excellent fishing and boating opportunities await you.
Soon, we will have riding trails and a campground with a bath house and hookups for six campers. 
In the town of Gatesville, we have our historic courthouse and plays are held in the historic courtroom.
