During #SFClimateWeek, the focal points revolved around reusing what already exists, investing in infrastructure, and scaling rapidly. Bonus points if no critical minerals were required. The most economical cutting-edge #battery plant is one that is already up and running. Learn more about how we are enhancing lead acid factories to convert them to produce powerful, cap-ex efficient #energystorage solutions. #SustainableEnergy #RenewableTech #energy #innovation

Did you know that changing from lead acid to "dumb*-but-powerful" nickel zinc can either lighten the weight or increase the performance of an industrial scissorlift? And they are a simple drop-in replacement for the reliable lead-acid, and have the same operating temperature range (but 3X the lifespan and 3X the energy density). It's an easy upgrade for an industrial workhorse. * as in no BMS or expensive retrofit required #batteries #energystorage #industrial #innovation #thinkzinc #zinc

Love the "dumb-but-powerful" approach. We need all sorts of #batteries.
Considering moving to lithium-ion batteries for your product? For many #mobility and stationary #energystorage applications currently using #leadacid it will be much easier to drop in the new "dumb-but-powerful" nickel-zinc #batteries. Why? Batteries that don't require a battery management system (BMS) also don't need a product retrofit, and the new powerful batteries with Enzinc's anode will offer plenty of power (equivalent to LFP in many applications) and higher levels of safety (none of the risk of lithium's volatile electrolyte and dangerous off-gassing when there is a fire). #thinkzinc #zinc #electrochemistry #betterbatteries Jon Bonanno Stefan Seiberth Michael Burz Victoire de Margerie

Our business model is every bit as important as our product--and they are interlinked. Most non-lithium battery start-ups face multiple barriers: they have to sell new technology, build a trusted brand AND build manufacturing infrastructure. That's why most struggle. At Enzinc, we make a component that enables lead-acid battery companies to make much more powerful batteries with a relatively simple and very capex-efficient upgrade of existing lines. They can offer customers a substantially more powerful (3X) drop-in replacement product under their existing trusted brand, through their current channel partners and sales team. Bonus: they get to stay relevant in a market where lithium-based batteries threaten their long-term business health. #energystorage #batteries #thinkzinc #zinc #electrochemistry #manufacturing Jon Bonanno, Stefan Seiberth, Michael Burz, Jake Pflaum, Nicholas Walrod

Fun fact: If all 283.4 million U.S. vehicles used our nickel-zinc battery instead of the lead acid that all cars (yes, even EVs) use for lights and ancillary services before the car is running, we’d take about 7.17 billion (with a B!) pounds of weight out of vehicles, resulting in massive fuel savings. One-third the weight for the same voltage and Amp hours. #thinkzinc #zinc #batteries #energystorage #electrochemistry #automotive

We were delighted to have a chance to show Victoire de Margerie from WORLD MATERIALS FORUM around yesterday and update her on our award-winning #zinc #battery #materials innovation. Pictured with Michael Burz, Michael Galluzzo, Mike Coleman, Dej Knuckey and with a guest appearance from Bayley. We were honored to take home the Coup de Coeur Start Up award at last year's WMF annual event.
