“For fleets, safety is a non-negotiable,” said Bill Schankel, CEO of NAFA. “We invest in safety knowing that it’s one of the things we can always improve right now in a world where much of what’s going on is outside our control.” Last week, fleet managers and their team members received updates on the latest in safety policy, culture, and technology at NAFA’s annual Fleet Safety Symposium. NAFA Fleet Management Association reposted this
🚨🚗 NAFA Takes on Capitol Hill! 🚗🚨 One day. Nine meetings. (Sometimes it's easiest to go old-school and write your schedule down on paper that can be tucked into a pocket and referenced throughout the day.) Two transfers between the House and Senate. A debrief, and some fun on the National Mall. 23,000+ steps at the end of the day. If you think I was tired, you'd be right. But I was also invigorated. The work we did is important. On Tuesday, June 10th, NAFA Fleet Management Association professionals from across the country flew into Washington, DC to do what we do best — keep America moving and make sure our voice is heard in the halls of Congress. As the national association representing 3,300+ fleet managers who manage $122 billion in assets we know fleets aren’t just about moving goods — we move economies, support public safety, and help power daily life in every community. From ambulances and refuse haulers to utility trucks and delivery vans, we are the backbone of American infrastructure. 💡 Did you know? 🚘 1 in every 5 vehicles sold in the U.S. is purchased by a fleet 📈 Fleet vehicles are 25% of all vehicles 💲 Fleets contribute $800 billion to the economy, and 💵 Move $10 TRILLION in goods every year 🗣️ That’s why our federal advocacy work is vital. Congressional staff are hard at work writing the laws that shape the future of transportation — and it’s critical they hear from the trusted experts who actually manage these vehicles. That’s us. ✅ During the fly-in, we championed: 🔋 EV tax credits like 45W and 30C to bring costs down and support U.S. manufacturing ⚡ Funding for NEVI and CFI grants to expand EV and alt-fuel infrastructure 🛠️ Right to repair protections so fleets aren’t locked into only OEM service 🔐 Secure, no-cost access to vehicle data for diagnostics and telematics 🧰 The PART Act, to crack down on catalytic converter theft We’re not just advocating for fleet — we’re advocating for reliability, efficiency, safety, and sustainability across the country. 🇺🇸 Huge thanks to our fellow NAFA members for showing up and speaking out, HillStaffer, LLC for their expertise and partnership, and to our allies on the Hill for listening. Let’s keep driving smart, fleet-informed policy forward. #NAFA #FleetAdvocacy #DCFlyIn #AmericanFleetLeadershipCoalition #FleetsLead #SustainableFleet #EVPolicy #RightToRepair #FleetManagement #CleanTransportation #PartAct #VehicleDataAccess #FleetForward
