Say thank you to somebody special. We all have a special person in our life who helped us to grow into the person we are today. At Big Sisters, this is the work we do. We create connections between Big and Little Sisters to help them find that person and be supported to reach their full potential. We are very excited to launch the Big Sisters' Thank You Tree, a way for you to thank a special person in your life. The person you honour with your donation will be celebrated and recognized through our online Thank You Tree. By supporting our Thank You Tree, you’ll be helping future generations to grow into the best versions of themselves, by giving them the opportunity to find a mentor of their own. Say THANK YOU and make a meaningful impact with your gift. https://lnkd.in/g6U_DX4C

Mentoring ignites the power of youth, we envision a world where all young people realize their full potential.
About us
It can be tough out there for girls. Big Sisters provides supportive mentoring relationships to young girls who may be facing challenges like bullying, isolation, poverty, abuse, social anxiety, low self-esteem and more. Research shows that mentoring has a powerful impact on the lives of young girls. We know that 96 percent of adults who had a mentor say they are happy and 92 percent feel confident. Since 1960, Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland has been changing the course of young girls’ lives. Our experienced caseworkers carefully match Little Sisters with female adult mentors who help them reach their full potential, avoid risky behaviour and make healthy choices. Service Areas Vancouver, Richmond, North & West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster, Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Tsawwassen, and Ladner.

We had the pleasure of welcoming our volunteers into our office space last night to recognize and thank them for their efforts. We mingled, assembled soup kits, and most importantly, celebrated everyone's contributions to our organization. Our programs wouldn't run without the invaluable work of our volunteers—we, along with all the girls & gender-diverse youth served, thank you!
