This Catalyst, now in Phase 3, builds on the marketplace framework and demonstrates a 5G Open radio access network (RAN) use case. The project will show how service providers (CSPs) can benefit from cross-industry collaboration to innovate their business models and create new services for enterprises.
Using the app trading marketplace capabilities, the Catalyst shows that vendors, communications service providers (CSPs), cloud providers, application developers and others can work together to quickly roll out a 5G Open RAN network and develop an enterprise use case for the network.
The project will explore artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled RAN, Open RAN deployment and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) automation. Companies from across industries can define, develop and integrate services for 5G applications. TM Forum’s Open API and Open Digital Architecture (ODA) principles will be used in end-to-end service orchestration.
Phase 3 of this Catalyst will expand functionality in these areas:
• End user: Subscription management, settlement record, machine learning and support
• Marketplace framework: Marketplace federation, billing/cost management, entitlements, and cloud provisioning
• CSP, Partner or Vendor: Management functions, framework, analytics, and settlement (N-Tier Costing)
