Mentoring ProgrammeXLP’s Mentoring Programme is for young people aged 11 - 18 who live in the boroughs we work in. Young people are matched with a volunteer mentor who will meet up with them for 1-2 hours a week over a year.
Our nationally-recognised Mentoring Programme matches an at-risk young person with a trained mentor who encourages them to make positive choices. Mentoring provides young people with a safe space to talk with a committed adult who helps them work hard to achieve the goals they set.

XLP recruits and trains mentors from the local community to be matched with young people. Young people are referred to the programme by schools, pupil referral units, youth services, or the police.
Mentors and mentees commit to meeting up for two hours each week for a minimum of 12 months, and an experienced youth worker assigned to each borough supports the mentor, mentee, and the family throughout the process. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations has awarded XL-Mentoring the Mentoring and Befriending Approved Standard Provider. |
