Story

When I look back at the highs and lows of my younger years, I am reminded of those who provided a hug or a warm arm around the shoulder when I needed it most; those individuals were also on hand when I needed to be asked the difficult questions. They listened to me and they championed me, often believing in me more than I did. Strong male role models have profound impact, and they are in short supply.

Chapter2 passionately believe that every boy should have a good man to guide him to adulthood. Sadly, far too many boys in the UK are growing up without a (positive) father figure, with an impact on self-worth, educational outcomes, criminality... and so forth.

The mission of Chapter2 is to write hope into the fatherless story by providing trained, assessed and monitored men as dedicated 1-2-1 mentors. Through healthy long-lasting relationships, mentors walk alongside their mentees and help guide them to adulthood. The boys become part of a community where confidence is built, new life skills are learned and the narrative of what it means to be a good man that can have a positive impact on his community is played out.

Can you give and help re-write the story?

Chapter2 works with boys who are growing up with no father and no positive male influence. We provide them with a dedicated male mentor and male community to help guide them to adulthood. Our aim is to write hope into a story which might otherwise be profoundly sad.
