Before Health Intelligence advocates for the use of artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In February, we witnessed the publication of two notable research articles reporting successful use of AI algorithms applied to electrocardiogram (ECG) signals: • Nature Medicine – Artificial intelligence for direct-to-physician reporting of ambulatory electrocardiography https://lnkd.in/g3UAQrRt • Communications Medicine – Artificial intelligence for hemodynamic monitoring with a wearable electrocardiogram monitor https://lnkd.in/gmJ64F79   While Johnson et al. reported the use of AI for interpreting ambulatory ECG signals to detect brief critical arrhythmias and directly reporting to physicians, Schlesinger et al. focused on using AI for predicting elevated mean pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (mPCWP). Although both studies fundamentally differ from our technology, we consider any progress in this field a step forward for the use of AI in cardiology and congratulate the research groups for their success.   Antshrike, our mobile solution for providing early warnings for heart attack and stroke, uses uniquely convoluted time-series originating from continuous recordings of heart and other biometric signals from commercially available smartwatches and wearables. It relies on an AI core that predicts catastrophic and non-catastrophic health events a couple of days ahead of time.   #AIinHealthcare #AI #CadiovascularDisease
