The Collection
“The seed of an idea was sown when I visited the Arctic in 2021 and witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of climate change and human activity on the natural world. I wanted to create a collection of pieces that highlighted the plight of wildlife in the polar regions, as a result of melting sea ice and pollution.”

Every animal is vital to its eco-system in some way, and thus vital to the rest of the natural world. Every species in this collection is affected in some way by human activity and climate change. Some may surprise you more than others.”

The Project Fund
According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), there are currently more than 40,000 species that are believed to be under threat. There is mounting evidence that the Earth is heading towards, or perhaps in the midst of the sixth mass extinction. While extinctions are part of the Earth’s natural evolutionary cycle, the current species extinction rate is estimated between 1,000-10,000 times higher than ‘natural’ extinction rates (the rate of species extinctions that would occur if humans were not around).
The Impermanence Project Fund was set up to support vital conservation projects worldwide, sourced from conservation charities and foundations that aim to tackle the main drivers of climate change and human encroachment. 30% of sales from the Impermanence collection will be going directly into the project fund.
The Exhibition
Introducing artist and conservationist, Sophie Green’s newest collection, Impermanence. A collection of 14 inspiring, evocative and thought-provoking pieces, painted in a hyper-realistic style.
Sophie’s artwork draws the viewer’s attention to the vulnerability, emotion and power of animals with a single look. She is known for using dramatic lighting and contrasting values to create atmosphere and emotion; providing a window into another eco-system and connecting the viewer with wildlife from all over the world.
The collection will be funding vital conservation projects worldwide, as well as raising awareness for conservation issues and inspiring others to make a difference.
