SEC Complaint Filed Against Berkshire Hathaway For Arrest of Shareholder Who Raised Bill Gates/Jeffrey Epstein Issue

National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) today filed a Complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding an incident at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ meeting on May 6. 2023 during which NLPC Chairman Peter Flaherty had his microphone cut and was arrested. Flaherty was making a statement in support of NLPC shareholder proposal for an independent chairman.

Flaherty cited the reputational risk to the company posed by Warren Buffett‘s close identification with Bill Gates and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to which he has contributed tens of billions of dollars. Flaherty pointed to Gates’s association with Jeffrey Epstein, even after Epstein had been convicted of sex crimes against minors.
