According to Accenture#MentalHealth impacts 9 out of 10 employees - with 69% experiencing mental health issues personally and 88% knowing someone affected - yet only 33% of employees self-identify as having mental health challenges. Although there is much progress to be made in addressing mental health in the workplace, we are experiencing a shift in perception; the Disability:IN 2023 Disability Equality Index® uncovered best practices like 92% of participating companies offering mental health or employee assistance programs (EAPs). We recognize that the mental health journey is unique to every person, and we are honoring #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth by sharing supporting tools and resources that you can use to help advance mental health awareness and inclusion in the workplace. Data from the 2023 Disability Equality Index® uncovered that only 5% of the 485 Disability Equality Index participating companies have advancement and retention programs for their employees with #Disabilities. Today, we are addressing this gap by launching the Early Career Talent Accelerator to support the unique experiences and needs of employees with disabilities to provide relevant and culturally competent professional development. With support from Disability:IN Corporate Partner network, the Early Career Talent Accelerator is a first-of-its-kind development program developed by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities - aiming to address essential workplace skills through a 12-week curriculum. We are proud to provide a program that focuses on professionals with disabilities to help increase awareness and promote equal opportunity in the workplace.
