Happy Earth Day! At Ericsson, today kicks off a week of activity to reflect on what we have achieved and what more we can do for the planet. Two of our #ScienceBased targets were achieved in 2022 and we recently received approval for our second set of #SBTi #climate targets: achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040 and halving value-chain emissions by 2030. But we cannot do this alone - we recognize the importance of working with employees, customers, suppliers and business partners across the #valuechain to reach #NetZero to use renewable energy and continue to invest in digital infrastructure and technologies to revolutionize use of resources, improve efficiency and drive sustainability efforts. A truly special visit at Ericsson this week 🤩

It was a privilege to meet World Food Programme ED Cindy McCain on her visit to Stockholm yesterday. She shared the important work WFP is doing on emergency relief for communities in crisis, food assistance, and supply chain resilience around the globe and how important public-private #partnerships are to ensure a more #resilient and #sustainable future for all. Ericsson is proud to be a long-standing partner to the World Food Programme through our flagship volunteer humanitarian relief program Ericsson Response, as well as through funding #foodsecurity and smart warehouse initiatives in India.   🌍 At Ericsson, our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond the boundaries of technology and innovation. I'm proud to share a glimpse into a remarkable initiative that embodies our values. 🙌 In response to the ongoing challenges faced by Ukrainian talents living in Sweden, particularly the women and children who represent the majority of refugees, we've taken a step forward with the Skill Shift Initiative. Our dedicated employee resource group, #Ericsdotter, is at the heart of this effort, providing mentorship to around 30 Ukrainian talents. The goal? Not only to welcome them into our community but to enhance their prospects in the Swedish labour market. Through one-on-one mentoring, colleagues shared insights, skills, and experiences, offering guidance and support to help these talents navigate new opportunities and challenges. It's a testament to the power of collective effort and the spirit of community that define who we are. Together, we're not just talking about change; we're actively participating in shaping a more #inclusive and #empowered society. Let's continue to support each other, break barriers, and build a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. 🌟

🌍 Sharing a few insights from my latest blog post, on the importance of enabling technology when financing climate action. Currently, public communication networks are not considered eligible economic activities in the EU taxonomy for sustainable activities, which diverts investments away from essential digital technologies and infrastructure needed for the green transition. This oversight seems to miss a significant opportunity, as there is clear evidence of the importance of digital technologies in reducing emissions and transforming industries and societies for the better. 📡 To attract capital and incentivize increased deployment of 5G in Europe, it's crucial for the EU to acknowledge the deployment of transformative connectivity solutions as an eligible activity under the regulation. The report includes how we are tackling material risks, realizing opportunities, and creating positive impacts across our industry ecosystem and in society. We believe that by aligning sustainability with our corporate strategy and ethical business practices, we can drive positive change and create long-term value for all our stakeholders.
