Keep reading… Hi, I am Debleena Roy, Senior Business Analyst – Portfolio Compliance at Franklin Templeton. 💼 Let me tell you about my journey to the portfolio compliance realm. After a brief stint in tax functions, I decided to pursue CFA. My quest for a CFA designation led me to develop a keen interest in the asset management industry. After successfully clearing CFA Level 2, I joined Franklin Templeton, where I now work as part of the investment compliance team. Here, I gained hands-on experience dealing with complex securities such as derivatives, bonds, mortgages, loans, and digital assets like cryptocurrencies and tokens. My role involves monitoring live trades and acting as an advisor, researcher and consultant to liaison primarily between portfolio management, trading and legal teams. 🌟 🌏 Global team spirit I am based in Hyderabad, India, but on a day-to-day basis I am responsible for the Fixed Income and Global Macro funds in the US San Mateo region. Because of this, I work closely with the US compliance team. The team in India and in the US have a very collegial team spirit. Everyone is very approachable and helpful. The positive team spirit and the supportive nature of the team is something that I really appreciate and feel blessed to be a part of. 🏆 Personal and professional milestones During my 3.5 years here, I have learned many skills from working with this team, which include: 🛠️ building relationships with the portfolio management and trading teams, 🛠️ understanding new regulations, 🛠️ exploring security types, 🛠️ working on new-age digital asset products. I have also cleared the CFA Level 3 and FRM Part 1 and Part 2 exams. Overall, it has been a very satisfying experience for me, both personally and professionally. 💙 Balancing work, family, and health Due to my mom’s health, I had to work from home for an extended period, which was strongly supported by my team. I was able to work around my exams and spend the necessary time with my family and give them the support they needed. I would always be grateful for the flexibility I was given during that time.     Read Steve's first-person story below… 💼 My name is Steve Hovhannisyan, MBA. I began my journey as an Inbound Sales Associate, handling inquiries from several different regions across the country. In less than a year, I advanced to the role of Internal Advisor Consultant, working closely with financial advisors in the Colorado region. Currently, I am a VP – Senior Advisor Consultant for the Southwest region. In this role, I build relationships with financial advisors and help them meet their client’s needs through a range of channels, including seminars, phone consultations, and face-to-face meetings. …and this year will mark my sixth year with Franklin Templeton! 🎉 🌟 The most exciting part of my work? Engage with advisors individually 👥, understand their objectives, and actively help them to achieve them using the range of tools and resources that Franklin Templeton provides for us. 👨💼 The most enjoyable aspect of my job is conducting client seminars. However, each seminar presents a unique challenge that requires thorough preparation and research to comprehend and tailor the content to the specific needs and interests of the audience. Before each seminar, I discuss with the advisor to gain insights into the clients' backgrounds, needs, and expectations, ensuring meticulous preparation. 🚀 Opportunities in the Asset Management Industry Working at Franklin Templeton is very exciting and rewarding.     Natalia's idea is one of many grassroots initiatives that we implement and support in the company. 💡 1️⃣ Championing employee ideas Last year, Natalia actively participated in the I-Box project, which gathered ideas from Poznań employees on how to enhance organizational processes. This initiative covers four key categories: 🛒 customer-related improvements, 💼 savings, 📢 process and communication efficiency, and 👨💼 👩💼 work culture, office life, and 🪀 employee well-being. The program she proposed, “Be a Buddy to Somebody,” was selected as the winning project. 2️⃣ Buddy Program implementation success After the "Buddy Program" won, Natalia collaborated with the local HR team to streamline resources, communication steps, and approvals. This involved setting up a Buddy Pool, creating guidelines for Buddies and Leaders, and running a communication campaign. Fortunately, all the employees supported the idea from the start. 🤝 We're now in the final implementation stage, with some pilot Buddies already supporting new Franklin Templeton colleagues in the field. 3️⃣ From Natalia’s perspective… “I truly believe that assigning 'Buddies' to new employees increases comfort and confidence, which positively impacts communication and the entire organization.
