Are you starting to get the hang of How to Bet?

Are you finding it much easier to lay your money on this crazy 2021 National Football League campaign?

This season has been a struggle at times, but we might have seen a turning point during Week 12.

I think we are starting to FINALLY see some separation in the tiers, DESPITE the fact that both conference playoff races are 100 percent coming down to Week 18. And why shouldn’t they in this new 17-game format? You knew something wacky was going to happen.

What you will start to see in Week 13 is some primetime divisional battles that should continue into January with the flex schedule. For me, those bigger games between better teams should start to get easier to predict (opposite of what you would think, right?), as the cream starts rising to the top.

Quickly, I want to give you my current tiers of teams in the AFC and NFC

Top tier

AFC

  • 1A
    • Kansas City
    • Baltimore
    • New England
  • 1B
    • Indy
    • Buffalo

NFC

  • Arizona
  • Tampa Bay
  • Green Bay

Playoff tier, but probably (almost certainly) not good enough to win Super Bowl

AFC

  • Cincinnati
  • Miami (shocked you here, right? Look at their schedule)
  • Tennessee (sinking ship)
  • The AFC West not Kansas City

NFC

  • Dallas
  • San Francisco
  • Los Angeles (sinking ship?)

The rest of the teams in the NFC stink, and the same with the AFC.

There are going to be some teams that go on runs and make the playoffs in both leagues, and in fact, that has already started. San Fran has won three straight to get to 6-5, and if the 49ers could just get a little healthy, they could be a factor. The Pats are the hottest team in football with six-straight, and the Chiefs are just behind them with four. But look out for the Miami Dolphins, who were written off for dead after losing seven in a row to fall to 1-7. Now at 5-7, they play the Giants, Jets, and Saints in the next three weeks. If they could get to 8-7 heading into the final two against Tennessee and New England...

And now add Washington to that list, after the Football Team won their third straight game Monday night to get to 5-6 with an interesting schedule left down the stretch.

There are some very good games on the docket this week, and more every weekend now for the rest of the way. And remember, we get Saturday NFL soon as well.

Here is a look at all the odds and games for NFL Week 13.

Week 13 Schedule

Dallas Cowboys (7-4) at New Orleans Saints (5-6), 8:20 p.m. EDT (NBC and fubo.TV)

For the second time in a week, the Saints host a Thursday Night Football contest against a pretty good team coming off a disappointing result.

New Orleans is so banged up right now, and Dallas might be getting healthier for this battle. I would expect to see much the same as we saw last Thursday.

Read more about this game in our Thursday Night Football Best Odds & Bets guide.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-3) at Atlanta Falcons (5-6), 1 p.m. EDT (FOX and fubo.TV)

Tampa Bay got a huge game from Leonard Fournette in a very good comeback win over a pretty good Indy team. Can the Bucs go on a run at some point, though, would be my question.

This Atlanta team keeps hanging around the playoff picture, and will probably be right around (probably a little below) .500 for the season. But if they could get one more upset, it might make the last month interesting.

Minnesota Vikings (5-6) at Detroit Lions (0-9-1), 1 p.m. EDT (CBS and fubo.TV)

Is Minnesota the most frustrating team to bet on in the NFL? Can you even trust the Vikings at this point with your money? I know one thing, the Lions might be the best 0-9-1 team in the history of the NFL. But all of these close losses also have to tell you something too, right? Maybe they are on the right path, but need better players (of course that is it).

Indianapolis Colts (6-6) at Houston Texans (2-9), 1 p.m. EDT (CBS and fubo.TV)

I will tell you one thing I do know: this is the best 6-6 team in the NFL, and the Colts are going to cause some team major problems if they can find their way into the AFC Playoffs. The schedule would say 9-8 for this team, but maybe 10-7; 8-9 I don’t think gets it done.

Houston lost to the Jets. That is embarrassing. This is going to be ugly.

Philadelphia Eagles (5-7) at New York Jets (3-8), 1 p.m. EDT (CBS and fubo.TV)

The Eagles’ fans were printing playoff tickets ahead of that game at Met Life, and now they blew it. With the opportunity to get to .500, they put up SEVEN POINTS against the Giants. The schedule is still manageable, (for a decent team, though), and a win here might see the T-shirt machines go into high gear.

The Jets won last week, but basically all it did was potentially cost them a higher pick in the draft. They can’t even tank correctly (AGAIN).

Arizona Cardinals (9-2) at Chicago Bears (4-7), 1 p.m. EDT (FOX and fubo.TV)

Interesting to see what the bye week did for the Cardinals, who watched almost everyone else lose ground last week in the battle for the bye. You would think Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins will play, but check on their injury status daily.

Chicago does enough every once in a while to win a game. They are not good.

New York Giants (4-7) at Miami Dolphins (5-7), 1p.m. EDT (FOX and fubo.TV)

Both of these teams come in after outstanding defensive showings, and have a little late season life to them. But it is the Dolphins that have been fantastic, and can almost wipe out that seven-game losing streak over the coming weeks.

As I have said, Miami is a dangerous team right now.

Los Angeles Chargers (6-5) at Cincinnati Bengals (7-4), 1 p.m. EDT (CBS and fubo.TV)

Would anyone like to start trying to figure out the Chargers? Another head-scratching loss for LA leaves them in a tough spot here, in a game that could have tie-breaker implications.

If Cincinnati keeps playing the way it did Sunday in a blowout win over the Steelers, the Bengals could be a factor in the playoffs. Joe Mixon has been outstanding, and once again, this is a massive game for the overall playoff standings.

Washington Football Team (5-6)  at Las Vegas Raiders (6-5), 4:05 p.m. EDT (FOX and fubo.TV)

Well, well, well: all of a sudden, the defending NFC East champions have vaulted themselves into the playoff race with a three-game winning streak, after their 17-15 last stand win on Monday Night Football. A win here to get to .500 would make the playoff race that much more interesting.

The Raiders came up huge on Thanksgiving, and now once again have their playoff fate in their own hands over the next month. They play the Chiefs, Browns, Broncos, Colts, and Chargers down the stretch, all teams they are fighting with for playoff positioning. This first one is huge, though.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) at LA Rams (7-4), 4:05 p.m. EDT (FOX and fubo.TV)

The Jags have played hard in many of their losses this season, and they are a team learning how to win on the fly. But they are not pushovers, and can cause problems for teams.

What has happened to the Rams? Three losses in a row, plus a tough schedule down the stretch, has LA scrambling to turn it around before it falls apart. Remember all of the midseason moves made to win now? It had better work.

Baltimore Ravens (8-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5-1), 4:25 p.m. EDT (CBS and fubo.TV)

One team is finding ways to win behind a tough defense, while the other is starting to see the wheels come off after they were held on by duct tape for much of the season.

Lamar Jackson threw FOUR interceptions last week, including three in five passes in the second quarter, and he might have been the BETTER QB on the field. The Ravens held Baker Mayfield to 18-of-37 passing.

Pittsburgh is winless in nearly a month, and has a brutal schedule down the road. Too many injuries and an old squad have caught up to the Steelers.

San Francisco 49ers (6-5) at Seattle Seahawks (3-8) ( ,  4:25 p.m. EDT (CBS and fubo.TV)

Remember, in the AFC West, the visitors play well for some reason. And right now, that reason might be that the 49ers are getting hot at the right time, and ready to come into Seattle to keep winning and moving up the playoff seeding.

Seattle had to play another tough primetime game loss on Monday night, and is in a tough spot here against a very good team.

Denver Broncos (6-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-4), 8:20 p.m. EDT (NBC and fubo.TV)

Ah, flex scheduling lets me see my Broncos in primetime as they battle a refreshed Kansas City side for first place in the AFC West.

I can’t lie here, though; I think this Kansas City team is going to darn near run the table, and the Chiefs would be my pick to win a second Super Bowl title in three years.

New England Patriots (8-4) at Buffalo Bills (7-4), 8:15 p.m. EDT (ESPN and fubo.TV)

Back-to-back division race games on primetime? Count me in: and get used to it, because the final month is going to have a lot of division games on TV to end the weekend of action.

This game should be really good, with the preseason favorites to win the AFC East and maybe the AFC against the hottest team in football.
